Capturing Screen Settings

Holding an Animation
You can hold the current animation and prevent it from being changed by pressing the "Manual" button. In manual mode, the automatic triggering of animation changes is disabled, effectively holding the animation. When manual control is off, you can still manually make changes to the animation. Clicking the manual button again will restore the triggering of animation changes. If a recorded rave is being played, the animation will resume as recorded.

Saving the Current Animation Settings to Your Hard Drive
If you like the current appearance of the screen, you can save those exact settings to recall later. A style is a saved snapshot of every setting in Vusic. Select "Save Current..." from the Style popup menu. You can save the style to any name that is 15 characters or less. You can load a style at any time by selecting it from the popup menu by name.

If the beat counter sliders are not turned off, then your newly loaded style will trigger animation changes shortly after it is loaded. To prevent this, you can turn off all the beat counter sliders by dragging them to the far left positions. Or if you press the semicolon key on your keyboard, then you will be prompted for a style name, that when saved will automatically turn off the beat counter sliders within the saved style.

Keeping the Current Movement Configuration
If you like the appearance of the current movement, you can lock its settings. Click the arrow at the upper left of the movement to open the movement popup menu. The items at the top with an ellipsis (...) are parameters. Open each parameter panel and click the "Randomization" button so that it says "Fixed." If the parameter is named "Screen Percentage...", you do not need to open it as it is already set to "Fixed."

Saving a Set of Movements with Parameters
If you have a favorite set of movements, you may want to save them, especially if you have adjusted and fixed their parameters. To save a set of movements, select "Save Current..." from the Movement Sets popup menu in the MOVEMENT SETTINGS panel. You can save the set to any name that is 15 characters or less. You can load a set at any time by selecting it from the popup menu by name.

Saving a Set of Brushes with Various Attachments
If you have a favorite set of brushes, you may want to save them, especially if you have created attachments for some of the brushes. To save a set of brushes, select "Save Current..." from the Brush Sets popup menu in the BRUSH SETTINGS panel. You can save the set to any name that is 15 characters or less. You can load a set at any time by selecting it from the popup by name.

Capturing Vusic on Video
Vusic does not provide video export. However, there are third-party programs that record screen animation. The following programs are $30 or less. If you can recommend others, let us know. For the Macintosh, check out ScreenMovie or Snapz Pro. For Windows, check out Hypercam. If you are willing to spend more money, we recommend LEAD Capture and Present ($49) or WinCAM 2000 ($149).
