Sound Input
Changing Sound Inputs
You can make Vusic CD or Vusic LIVE listen to any sound channel, including the microphone channel.
To change sound inputs, select "Sound Input..." from the Settings popup menu.
Then, click the Current Input popup and select one of the listed channels to
make it the current sound input. Whatever is selected to be the current sound
input is saved by Vusic.
Make sure that "listening" is turned on. The "Listen" button in the top row
of buttons should be highlighted.
Windows: Not all sound cards support all possible
inputs. If you hear sound playing and you do not know which channel it is, click
the "Search" button to locate the active sound channel.
Sound Card Mixer Stuff (Windows)
When Vusic starts, it makes numerous changes to the sound card mixer. The default
sound channel that Vusic "listens" to is saved to a preferences file. Usually,
this would be the audio CD sound channel for Vusic CD or the microphone channel for Vusic LIVE. When starting up, Vusic searches for
that sound channel and selects that channel for recording. The recording volume
is set to maximum. The playback volume for that sound channel is enabled, if
muted.
