Songs and Songlists

Managing Songs (Vusic MP3)

Songs that are loaded into Vusic are added to the current songlist. The first song that is loaded into an empty songlist is loaded into track one. Any subsequent song is inserted after the current song track. The name of the song file is displayed in the box labeled "Song" at the top. You can rename the song and changed the displayed song name by selecting "Rename Song..." from the song popup menu. The actual name of the song file on your hard drive is not renamed. To remove a song from the songlist, select "Remove Song From List..." from the song popup menu. The current song will be removed from the songlist. The remaining song tracks will be renumbered appropriately. At the bottom of the song popup menu is a list of all songs within the current songlist. Select a song from the list to immediately play the song.

Managing Song Tracks (Vusic CD)

When a CD is inserted for the first time, an empty CD list is created. None of the song tracks have been assigned names. To assign a name to a song track, select "Add Song Title..." from the song popup menu. Type a name and press Return. The new song title will be displayed in the box labeled "Song". You can change a song title by selecting "Rename Song Title..." from the song popup menu. This option appears in the song popup menu after first adding a song title to a particular song track. At the bottom of the song popup menu is a list of all song tracks on the CD. Select a song track from the list to immediately play the track.

Working with Songlists (Vusic MP3)

When you first launch Vusic MP3, a songlist with one empty song is created with the name "My Songlist". You can add MP3 or WAV files to the songlist by clicking the Load button at the top of the controls, the "Load" button in the expanded controls (in the FILES panel), or by selecting "Insert New Song..." from the song popup menu. The first song loaded is placed into track one in the default songlist. After that, any new song loaded is inserted after the current song track. You are limited to 99 song tracks.

A songlist is a playlist or list of music files for Vusic MP3. The songlist also contains information about whether any of the files have attached raves (animations). You can have multiple songlists. To create a new songlist, select "Create Empty Songlist..." from the list popup menu in the Music Settings panel. This will create and load an empty songlist that has one song track. To load a different songlist, simply select the songlist name from the bottom of the list popup menu.

Assigning a Name to a CD (Vusic CD)

When a new CD has been inserted, Vusic CD will display "Unnamed" in the box labeled "CD" within the Music Settings panel. You can assign a name to the new CD by selecting "New CD List..." or "Rename CD List..." from the CD popup. Selecting "New CD List..." will create and load a copy of the currently loaded CD list. The previous CD list will remain on your hard drive. Selecting "Rename CD List..." will simply assign a new name to the current CD list.

A CD list is a file that lists the song track names and any attached animations (raves) for that particular CD. You can create more than one CD list for a CD. To load a different CD list, simply select a CD list name from the bottom of the CD popup menu.
