Vusic CD is not Responding to Music

If you hear music, but Vusic does not seem to be responding to the music, read the following:

Windows:

1. Make sure that another CD player is not open.
If so, then quit the CD player and restart Vusic.

2. Make sure that the correct sound card is the preferred sound device.
From the Start menu, click Settings: Control Panel.
Open the control that says "Multimedia", or "Sounds and Multimedia", or "Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices".
In Windows XP, click the Sounds and Audio Devices icon.
Click the Audio tab.
In the playback and recording panels, make sure that your primary sound card is listed in BOTH places.
The sound card listed should be the sound card that has a line input from your CD-ROM player.

3. Make sure that Vusic is listening to the correct channel.
Within Vusic, open the SOUND INPUT panel by selecting "Sound Input..." from the Settings popup menu.
Click the "Search" button. This should be able to locate the active sound channel.
Or select the appropriate channel from the Current Input popup menu, such as "CD audio".

4. Make sure that your CD-ROM player is hooked up to your sound card.
Open your computer and check to see that there is a line input wire from your CD-ROM to the CD-IN port of your sound card.

Macintosh:

Open the SOUND INPUT panel by selecting "Sound Input..." from the Settings popup menu.
Select the appropriate channel from the Current Input popup menu.
If that doesn't work, then try the following:
Open your Macintosh Sound control panel.
Make sure that you have your sound input set to the appropriate channel.
Make sure that "listen" or "playthrough" is turned on.
