Vusic Won't Run

Vusic Quits Immediately:

If Vusic launches then quits immediately, then you may have a corrupted style file. To correct this situation, open the Styles folder in your Vusic folder and delete the file named "Last_Session.sty". When Vusic is restarted, it will automatically create a new copy of that file. Your last settings will be lost and Vusic will revert to its default settings.

If you are updating to a new version of Vusic on Windows and the new version quits immediately, try deleting the preferences file. It is C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Vusic Preferences.txt.

Windows DirectX Errors:

If the "DirectX not Installed!" or the "Unsupported version of DirectX!" error appears, you need to install or upgrade DirectX on your computer. DirectX is required for Vusic to work.

You can download DirectX free of charge from the following Microsoft web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/default.asp

It is possible that your video card driver does not work with DirectX and needs to be upgraded. Contact the manufacturer of your video card to obtain the latest driver.

Windows DLL Errors:

If the "A required .DLL file, DDRAW.DLL, was not found." error appears, you need to install DirectX on your computer. See the DirectX Errors notes above for instructions.

Windows NT:

Windows NT is not supported. Vusic does run successfully on systems that have SoundBlaster cards. If you are attempting to run Vusic on Windows NT, make sure that you have installed Service Pack 6a.

You can download Service Pack 6a free of charge from the following Microsoft web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/ntserver/nts/downloads/recommended/SP6/allSP6.asp
