Our Vision

Vusic is the visual complement to music. Music is abstract, expressive, and emotional. Vusic is designed to add a visual dimension to music that conveys the same expressiveness using color, shape, and motion. Vusic gives form to music as if the abstract visual fantasy generated by the mind's eye could be seen. Vusic animations can be precisely synchronized and representational, but Vusic animations are at their best when abstract.

We do not strive to compete with music videos. Music videos tend to be representational and often aim to promote the band. Vusic animations are best suited for promoting the music itself. We, therefore, encourage the creative use of color, motion, and pattern instead of representational images. Vusic is a primarily an artistic tool, rather than a production tool.


Music Industry Partners

We are seeking record companies to partner with us and put a copy of Vusic on every music CD they press. We believe that this is the best way to distribute Vusic to the masses.

Since Vusic vastly enhances the musical experience, we suggest encoding music CDs with Vusic animations that play simultaneously with the music tracks. These animations, that are professionally created by artists, will reside on the music CDs themselves. One animation takes about one 1 MB of disk space, which is a very small fraction of the disk. These animations provide a visual experience that enhance the auditory experience of music. Our hope is that someday all music CDs will have Vusic animations for every song track.


Virtual Community

We are developing a virtual community of "Vusicians". Vusic is for the masses. With that in mind, we have made it easy for the average user to create and choreograph animations and to create custom components. We encourage users to share their creations and ideas with each other.


Proposed Features

1. File Sharing: We intend to make it easy for users to upload and download animations from the Vusic web site from within the software itself.

2. Easier Editing of Animations: We intend to add a scrolling window that displays an animation score and timeline that can easily edited.


How Vusic Stands Out Above the Competition

Vusic offers incredible ease of use. Users can create and save animations without learning any programming language or using special tools. Users can control the animations by using a control panel or the keyboard. Vusic provides unlimited opportunities for creativity.

Instead of using mathematical algorithms to create the images, Vusic relies instead on bitmap images that can easily be created by the user. Vusic makes it easy for users to incorporate their own images.

Vusic's main strength is color animation. Vusic can create motion by rotating color through drawn shapes and patterns. Through the creative placement of color, any kind of motion can be simulated.

A unique feature of Vusic is the ability to build up complex and intricate patterns over time. Through repetitive drawing of shapes and objects, a complex painting can be created over time, thus providing interest and anticipation for the viewer.

Vusic is the only software product that allows the user to attach animations to song tracks on a CD or to MP3 files. When Vusic plays a particular song, it will automatically play any attached animation.

Vusic is the only software product that allows the user to encode custom music CDs with custom animations. These animations reside on the CDs themselves. Vusic can detect if a song track has an attached animation on the CD and will play that animation automatically.
